Area Home Fellowships
The Yardley Fellowship meets each but the third Tuesday of every month, 7:30 pm, at the home of Vince and Mary Cacciatore, with Bible study taught by Walt Samsoe. For more information about this Bible study fellowship, contact Vince Cacciatore. Next meeting: this Tuesday, September 20.
The Newtown Fellowship meets each but the third Thursday of every month, 7:15 pm, at the home of Joe and Ann Little, with Bible study taught by Pastor Jules. We are continuing our long-term examination of “The Life and Letters of Paul,” and are currently working through 2 Corinthians. If you're interested in attending but have questions, or need directions, or anything else, contact Pastor Jules. Next meeting: this Thursday, September 22.
On the third Thursday of each month, the regular fellowships do not meet, so that the Men's and Women's fellowship groups can gather instead, on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. For more information about these groups, see the Men's Ministry and Women's Ministry Events and Activities listings below.
"The Zone," September 25
All 6th-12th grade kids are invited to “The Zone,” Faith Church's youth group that meets at Jeff Manto's Gym in Newtown every Sunday evening, 5:00-7:00 pm. Contact Jacob Puckett, Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries. Next meeting: this Sunday, September 25.
Also, Faith's youth band, Relentless Faith, will meet to practice at the Wittekinds’ home Thursday nights at 7:30 pm. For more information about the youth band, which performs at the special worship services and offertories through the course of the year, contact Rachel MacKay, Assistant Music Director. Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup, October 1
The fourth and final Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup of the 2011 season is scheduled for Saturday, October 1. Volunteers will gather at the Reisers’ home at 8:30 am; each person will be issued safety items (e.g., gloves, orange vests, and garbage bags as provided by PA-DOT); and the cleanup takes about 1.5 hours. For more information, contact Bob Reiser, at turbomom28@comcast.net.
Missions Dessert, October 1
Mark your calendars for a special Missions Dessert, Saturday, October 1, when Carl and Caroline Kishbaugh of World Team will speak to us about their role in providing pastoral care to missionaries. For more information about this event, contact Chuck Augustine, Chairman of the Global Impact Team.
New Members Class
October 9
What does it mean to say that Faith Presbyterian Church is “Reformed” in its theology? What exactly does it mean to be “Presbyterian”? Anyone interested in joining Faith Church or in learning more about our doctrine and ministry is invited to the New Members Class. We will meet at the Senior Center prior to the worship service on three consecutive Sundays, October 9-23, from 9:00-9:50 am; then, on the fourth Sunday, October 30, we will conclude the class with a special lunch meeting at the Grishams’ home.
Attendance at all three classes is required for all who want to join Faith Church, whether by initial profession of faith in Jesus Christ or by letter of transfer from another church; and is encouraged for all those seeking to deepen their understanding of the faith they already confess. On a Sunday in November, all those who’ve completed the course and wish to become members will be presented before the congregation and received into the membership of Faith Presbyterian Church. At that time, any among this group who have never been baptized will receive the sacrament.
Movie Night Under the Stars!
October 14
Invite a friend and plan to join us Friday, October 14, 7:00 pm, at the Wittekinds’ home, for our annual “Movie Night under the Stars” event. This year we'll enjoy Kung Fu Panda II. Bring a chair or blanket and a dessert or snack to share; your hosts will provide drinks, hot dogs, an popcorn. For more information, contact Steve Wittekind.
Women's Faith Walk, October 22
Women of Faith! We are beginning a new ministry, the Women’s Faith Walk, that will incorporate prayer, fellowship, fun, and fitness. On the fourth Saturday morning of each month, we will gather at Tyler State Park, to walk and pray together. For more information, contact Leanne Augustine, coordinator of the Women’s Ministry. Next gathering: Saturday, September 24, 8:00 am.
Light the Night Walk, October 29
The Light the Night Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 29, 4:30 pm, at Bucks County Community College. This is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual evening fundraising Walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. Funds raised support the following mission: “to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.” For each of the past three years, members of Faith have staffed the registration and other volunteer tables at this event. To help with setup and supplies, sign your name to the volunteer list located at the back table.
"First Sunday," November 6
On the “First Sunday” of every other month, there is a luncheon following the communion service, to which all are invited for a time of food and fellowship. This is a great opportunity for visitors and new attendees to meet people and to enjoy good fellowship in a relaxed atmosphere. Welcome!
(Mark your calendars: The next First Sunday luncheon that would ordinarily have been scheduled for October has been pushed back a month on account of other fellowship events in October; therefore, the next First Sunday is scheduled for November 6.)

Women of Faith! The Women’s Bible Study meets on the third Thursday of every month, 7:30 pm, at the Samsoes’ home. Virginia Grisham will lead in discussion of John Stott’s study of The Beatitudes. First meeting: Thursday, October 20.
