Our Ministries:
   "Faith Working through Love"

The following is a list of the ministries at Faith Presbyterian Church, together with a brief description of their purpose.

Children's Ministry: Birth-5th Grade

Joseph Bibb, Director

We place a strong emphasis on our ministry for children, striving to involve them in all aspects of our fellowship. Children are welcome during the worship service. The Children’s Ministry Team provides nursery care for kids under five years of age, and age-appropriate Sunday School classes for children from age two through grade five during the second half of the Sunday morning worship time.

Each spring, we offer a Communicants Class for interested sixth graders who desire to learn more about the faith we confess and the rights and obligations of membership in a Christian community (or, as the Westminster Confession puts it, "what man is to believe concerning God" and "what duties God requires of man").

Youth Ministry: 6th-12th Grade

Joseph Bibb, Director

The purpose of our Youth Ministry is to prepare Christ's young men and women for a life-long committment to God and his kingdom. The Youth program consists in:

The Zone:
  Faith's weekly youth group.
  Fridays @ 7:00 pm

Third Sunday:
  Monthly youth events.
  3rd Sundays @ 12:30 pm

Adult Education Ministry

Jules Grisham, Coordinator

The goal of the Adult Education program of Faith Presbyterian Church is to equip the saints with the resources they need for mature Christian living, by deepening them in God's word and by providing opportunities for ongoing immersion in the word and in community with one another. Engaging and enjoying the living Word of God in a community context, and then applying it, practicing its principles in the course of day-to-day living, is the heart of our mission to cultivate, train up, and serve the Kingdom together as disciples of Christ.

The Men’s Breakfast:
Discussing the Westminster Confession of Faith.
  3rd Saturdays @ 8:00 am

Care Ministry (Deacons)

Jeff MacKay, Coordinator

Through the Care Ministry we seek to demonstrate the love of Christ to each other and to others, both during difficult times of need and on joyous occasions. We provide meals for those who are sick, in need, or upon the birth of a baby. On behalf of the congregation, we arrange for gifts to be given at baptisms, to honor graduates, to express our love to members who are moving, and to bless and thank our staff at Christmas time. We can and do provide financial assistance to those in need, upon request and interview. Our purpose is to show God’s love to one another in a tangible way, as well as in prayer. This ministry is funded solely by contributions made by the congregation. These funds can be given at any time and designated for "Care." The Christmas Eve and Good Friday offerings have been specifically designated for this purpose.

Fellowship Events

Tim Clydesdale, Event Coordinator, with the Deacons

At various times of the year we have special events to promote friendship among our members, regular attenders, and recent guests. Volunteer help is always needed and appreciated.

Global Impact (Missions)

Chuck Augustine, Chairman

The mission of the Global Impact Team is to encourage the congregation's involvement with missions and to budget the distribution of congregational contributions earmarked for missions. The Team plans an annual Missions Conference in March and other missions-related activities throughout the year. At the core of Faith Church's mission strategy is the promotion of church planting, both in this country and abroad. Currently, we support missionary families in Senegal and Kenya, and four new churches in the Philadelphia area.

Children and Youth:
   A Higher, Nobler Calling

Our Goals for Children's Ministry:

  • To grow in their worship of God
  • To increase their knowledge, understanding, and application of Scripture
  • To improve their ability to serve one another with their spiritual gifts
  • To develop their commitment to impact the community, nation, and world with the gospel of Jesus Christ

And it is our desire to do this in a way that is caring, creative, joyful, and age-appropriate.

Nursery: Birth - 4 Years

We welcome infants, toddlers, and children up through 4 years old into a loving and playful environment where our child care providers are happy to care for the children of guests and regular attendees. The nursery is open during regular Sunday morning worship to enable parents to participate in the service with peace of mind.

Bible Classes: 5 years - 5th Grade

Children from age five through grade six receive teaching, guidance, and training in God's Word. Our teachers care for the children in a loving, encouraging environment, enabling them to share God's Word in a relevant and age-appropriate way. Throughout the year, we have special ministries and activities to encourage and develop community, service, worship, and outreach.

Our Goals for Youth Ministry:

  • That is soundly designed to serve the needs of both our parents and our children;
  • That provides ample opportunities for parental input and assistance; and
  • That provides our kids with sustained, caring, and personal discipleship for continued growth, as well as with regular times of fun and fellowship with one another.

The goals of this youth program are very simple:

  • To continue to walk with our children through the critical passage of junior and senior high;
  • To deepen them in their journey of faith and to sustain them all along the way in their healthy relationships with one another; and
  • To do so in such a way that they are not cut off from the main body of the church, but are integrated into the life of our congregation, so that by the time they graduate from our youth program, they will do so as mature believers, “owners” of their faith, prepared and excited to participate as adult members of the church.
